An Easy Gold Tone Makeup Look

Gold tones, the universally flattering hues on all skin tones and face shapes, are not just limited to sunny summer months. Today I want to share how a glowy, golden look can be worn year round and incorporated into your everyday makeup look in just a few easy steps.

I keep my everyday makeup relatively simple and quick, especially these days. As mentioned before, I use foundation, concealer, a little something to define my brows and bronzer to wake up my face with a warm glow. For eye shadow I usually have two steps – first, I like to use a shade like Mary Kay’s Biscotti all over my lid and typically use my bronzer shade on a fluffy brush and apply in a back and forth motion on the crease. I find that those two easy steps really open the eyes. Now, for the fun part! To make your eyes glow, I like to add a metallic shimmer, like the new Mary Kay Limited-Edition Foil Eye Shadow Duo in Copper & Pyrite. I apply the Copper shade directly to the center bottom of the lid. For an even more ‘WOW’ effect, you can wet your eye shadow brush in water and dip into the shadow then apply. This is the prettiest shade that has so much pigment! If you want to go one step further, dip a smaller eye shadow brush into Pyrite and apply to the outer corner of your eye. So easy, yet such a fun statement!

Next up, I want to add that final glow to my face. I’ve been loving the Mary Kay Limited-Edition Cream Blush Duo Stick. As someone who is not great at blush, this easy to use stick has two creamy shades that seamlessly melt into your cheeks with your fingertips. You truly cannot mess up! Even on days that I wear less makeup, I love tossing this portable stick into my bag to apply to my cheeks (it’s also great as a highlight!) or on my lips for a little bit of color. Since this cream blush has two shades in one, they can be used separately or together, but truly add that perfect glow and color to the face.

This golden makeup look is seasonless, meaning it will look beautiful for the upcoming fall season, winter parties (hopefully!) and beyond. It’s also super easy – I am not a makeup artist by any means but if I can do it, you can too! Next time you are looking to try something different, or maybe you have a special occasion coming up, I suggest  you add a little glow to your look and see how fabulous it makes you feel!
