One of my favorite things to do at the end of the year is round up my best buys of the year. This process lets me know what worked and what didn’t from the year before and what I should invest in down the line. My best purchases over the year cover a wide range of categories that I will expand on below. I’d love to hear – what were your top or most used purchases of the year?! Let me know in the comment section below.
Reusable Straws – I have to admit, I use straws in nearly everything I drink. I have been using reusable plastic straws (here) for many years but made the switch to these silicone ones last year. They are wonderful, comfortable, safe for hot + cold drinks, and even come with a cleaning brush for cleaning.
Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 – I purchased this product last March after a facial. While it does not smell great, I took a risk and it quickly became my favorite skincare product (as well as my husbands). Since I have sensitive skin and roscatia, I went with the P50W formula which is more gentle, but the original P50 formula has a cult following.
Soludos Sandals – (bottom left) I cannot count how many times I wore these sandals last year. All through spring and summer they were my go-to’s. They pair perfectly with day dresses and look equally as cute with jeans and a T shirt or top. I actually wore them so much I bought a second pair. They now come in a metallic version and tan version as well as the ones I have.
Pajama Sets – I made a commitment to try to transition from my oversized college T-shirts and mismatched shorts to grown-up matching pajama sets this year. And I am so glad I did! I feel so much better lounging around the house in a cute set rather than a frumpy, old shirt. It truly makes a different on my outlook! A few favorites include these, these, and these.
Lele Sadoughi Earrings – These earrings have made countless appearances on Lomurphy.com over the past year, even in another color (available here). I love the oversized flowers and they seem to go with so much of my wardrobe. They are clip on and available in multiple colors! This year I am thinking about adding one of her darling headbands to my accessory collection!
Travel Steamer – This is not a first time buy, as I almost always have a steamer with me, as my friends know. It was actually on my list from last year. However, I took this one with us to Marrakech and sadly, it exploded. From there I ordered this one (it has dual voltage capability) but honestly, it is not my favorite. It’s wonderful for overseas travel but I wound up ordering another handy-dandy $30 steamer that is simply the best! This is a must have!
Senreve Maestra Bag – This bag was with me on every trip we took this last year. From Colombia to Morocco, this bag was in hand and filled with my most needed carry-on items. It has a padded compartment for a laptop, five interior pockets for organization, a large zip pocket, and an opening for anything else. Everything has a spot and stays incredibly organized. But maybe the best feature of this bag is the multiple ways to wear it. While I usually prefer the backpack style, it can also be worn cross body, on one shoulder, or on your arm with the top handle. It is available in 15 different color ways!
Le Specs Sunglasses – Although I purchased these in 2017, I have to mention one of my very most worn items, these sunglasses. Pretty much the only sunglasses I ever wear! I was so happy to see that they came back in stock and are available here. The price tag couldn’t be better (under $60) and they are so flattering on all face shapes. They also come in black!
