Along with changing out key pieces in my wardrobe, during this time of year I also change my beauty routine. I keep my makeup pretty simple… Foundation, Bronzer, Mascara, Cat Eyeliner. But during the cooler months I love to incorporate a fun lip to the mix. Today I want to chat with you all about my top three lip colors from Nordstrom for fall and how to wear with your wardrobe!
The New-Nude
I remember the first nude lipstick I ever bought! It was YSL (number 11, to be exact) – my sister and I both picked up a tube at Nordstrom and I wore it all the time. I’ve realized, for me, that nude shades can be tough and can easily camouflage with my light complexion. This season I’m opting for a rose-nude. You know, not too nude and not too pink! This Tom Ford Lipstick in Indian Rose is my new everyday shade. It resembles the actual color of my lip, therefore elevating my natural shade without looking overdone.
The Red Lip
I love a red lip! Nothing makes me feel more confident than a clean, simply face paired with a festive, red pout. During the summer months I stick with a more red-orange shade (like MAC’s Lady Danger) while in the fall months I like a deeper, moodier red. I recently picked up this Liquid Lip by NARS at Nordstrom in the shade Don’t Stop. I truly couldn’t love it more! The shade is so rich and pigmented, yet super easy (and precise!) to apply with the brush. The formula is long wear and smudge free making it ideal for a night out. I can’t wait to continue wearing it in the winter/holiday months, as well!
The Bold Berry
I believe in a berry lip completely elevating and transforming an outfit. It is playful, approachable, and fun. Think of it as an accessory! My tip would be to keep jewelry to a minimum and let the ripe berry lip be your statement maker. Here I am wearing Nars Audacious Lipstick in Fanny, a color that looks great with solid neutrals as well as fun prints. I loved wearing this color during a recent trip to Vermont as it perfectly matched the amazing foliage!
Nordstrom has an incredible selection of beauty products from haircare to makeup, as well as fragrance. One of my favorite features of shopping Nordstrom online is being able to pick out my tried and true products, adding them to my shopping cart, and selecting the pick-up in-store option. That way when I’m on a run I can just stop by, pick up my goodies, and be on my way! However, when I do have the time, getting the chance to play in the makeup department of the store is such a luxury!!
