Soups We Love During Fall + Winter

When the temperatures start dropping I get so excited to start making yummy, warm soups all season long. Soup is a staple in our house and over the years we have tried tons of recipes and definitely have our go-to’s. I don’t know about you, but I always enjoy seeing what others make for dinner so I thought it may be fun to share a few tried and true soup recipes that are delicious and easy to make at home.

  1. Roasted Cauliflower Asiago Soup

This recipe, pictured above, is by Closet Cooking and we have been making this for about four years now. It is incredible, so good in fact that we usually double the recipe and freeze it for the next time we want to enjoy. Since the roasting and prep takes a little bit of time, it’s nice to have on hand for a quick meal of defrosting and reheating.

2. Tortilla Soup

Tortilla soup has been a staple in our house since we first started dating. Growing up, our moms also have always made tortilla soup, so it has that comforting feel to the both of us. While our recipe has evolved over the years, one that we really love is by What’s Gaby Cooking – one of my absolute FAVORITE food bloggers. All of her recipes are delicious, straight-forward, and no fuss. Highly recommend trying any and all of her recipes!

3. Chili

This may not necessarily be defined as a soup, but I feel like it has to be mentioned. It is a delicious go-to all fall/winter long. Everyone has their own way of making it but this is a recipe I often use.

4. Tortellini Soup

We have made all kinds or tortellini soups, but just recently tried this one from Half Baked Harvest (another food blogger I adore!). Have you tried her recipes? Not only are they beautiful, they are so tasty!! She is also a great follow over on Instagram. This one, specifically, tasted hearty, healthy and couldn’t have been easier to make. We did the stove-top version rather than the slow cooker!

5. Roasted Tomato Basil

With or without a grilled cheese, tomato basil soup is so comforting, don’t you agree? It should be no surprise that I am mentioning another recipe by What’s Gaby Cooking! This one will easily become a favorite in your home, as well!
