My Top 10 Purchases of 2017

After a long, wonderful holiday with family, I am excited to get back on schedule and start 2018 on the right foot! I wanted to share my top 10 purchases from last year, items that I will continue to use into the New Year. So let’s get to it, shall we?! Throughout the year we all buy a lot – from products to clothing, it’s almost scary to think about all the things we consume. Some things are standouts while some are forgotten but here are my top 10 purchases of 2017!

  1. Nespresso

This was a gift, actually, but probably one of the best gifts I have ever received. We have the VertuoLine (on sale now!) with the frother and my mornings are not complete without a cup (or two!)! My favorite coffee pod is the Melozio but I also love the limited edition flavors they create during the holiday season. I haven’t mastered the iced-coffee at home yet but by Spring/Summer I think I will have it down.

2. Le Specs Sunglasses

I have worn these sunglasses all year long (and in almost all of my posts). They are my go-to’s and I am constantly reaching for them. For under $60, they have been one of my best and most affordable purchases all year. I also just picked up these!

3. Vitamins

While I do eat a lot of vegetables, my meat and fruit intake is limited. This year I decided to start taking vitamins (these ones to be specific), and while I cannot say I notice a difference in myself, I know they are providing what I am lacking.

4. Travel

But specifically, our trip to London and Paris this past Spring. We went to celebrate our birthdays and one year anniversary and had an incredible time. With no real plan or agenda, we were able to explore, sightsee, eat (VERY) well. Saving for a trip to travel somewhere near or far with your loved ones is so special and creates forever memories. I can’t wait for what we have planned next year!

5. Luggage

With as much travel as I have done this year, one of the best investments has definitely been hard case luggage like this. I have the carry-on roller bag as well as the check bag. It is white which makes it stand out and easy to find at the baggage claim but it has definitely gotten dirty. The hard shell makes it sturdy and durable and seems to provide a lot more room. And if you do not already have luggage with four wheels, it will change your life!

6. Skincare

One of my resolutions this year was to take care of and invest in my skin. While I can’t admit that it has become a daily routine (I try!) anything is an improvement from what I was doing. I have purchased a number of products like this face wash, this moisturizer, toner and while I’m not hooked or loyal to any of them, I do not dislike them by any means. I recently picked up this tool and have not tried it yet, but I have heard nothing but rave reviews and cannot wait to give it a go. I’ll make sure to report back when I do. Have any of y’all tried it?! While my routine is far from perfect, taking the time to invest in my skin is so important for longterm and I look forward to continuing this habit into the New Year.

7. Outdoor Voices

My sister introduced me to Outdoor Voices a few years back and I love their work out clothes so much! Whether I am actually exercising, running errands, or just lounging, I always want to put on their leggings and super soft tees. I wear mostly the 3/4 Warmup Leggings and short sleeve tees. I highly recommend trying their pieces if you haven’t before!

8. Steamer

As a stylist, previously, a large industrial steamer was always with me. I have this thing with wrinkles – they drive me absolutely crazy! For that reason, I now always tote this mini steamer with me on trips and it is always ready to go in our closet at home (I also have this one). My friends always joke that I don’t go anywhere without it 🙂 It is so reasonably priced (under $20), very portable, and simple to use. If you do not already have one, I would add this little one to your cart!

9. Diptyque Candles

I love Diptyque. I have for years – so it’s not necessarily a 2017 purchase but I continue to buy them over and again. They are pricey but the scents are like none other and they truly bring me joy. I also use the containers once the candle is burned through for things like q-tips, vases, and makeup brush holders. A few of my favorite scents are Santal, Baies, Roses, Vanille, and Ambre.

10. Jeans

Topshop jeans might possibly be my most worn item this past year. I have this pair in white, black, and blue denim as well as the destroyed version. They are under $100, super comfortable, and available in short and regular which is a game changer for me!
