Hi gals! I get a ton of questions and emails about my hair products, curling iron, etc. and I wanted to answer all of your comments in one post. For anything I do not answer, please feel free to comment below or email me!
What curling iron do you use?
- I use the t3 curling wand with three size barrels (primarily the 1.5 inch or the tapered). I have used T3 products since college and swear by it. For someone with a lot of very fine hair, it can be difficult for my hair to hold a curl. This is the only wand that holds my curl for days and actually looks better as the day goes on. I have also experimented with this one, this one, and this one. I know the price may seem steep, but I can’t stress enough how worth it it is.
How often do you wash your hair?
- I wash my hair every few (3-4) days, if not less. This concept seems gross to some, and that is fine, but it is healthier for my hair. I have been doing this since I was 15 and as a result I use less heating tools. I started this because it takes about 15 minutes to brush my hair when wet. It is SO incredibly tangled, even with the help of these products: (this, this, this, and this). I have tried anything and everything and it is simply the texture of my hair combined with the fact that I color it. This is the shampoo I use, this is the dry shampoo I use, and this is the brush I use. I have talked about this brush here and here and swear by it! I would especially recommend it for kids.
Can you show us how you style your hair?
- The photo above, this one, and this one, have resulted in a ton of questions on styling my hair. I am by no means a professional and am pretty lazy most of the time with styling my strands. I would love to share tutorials on how I accomplish these looks (even though it’s usually pretty random) and hope to start a YouTube channel for y’all soon! Stay tuned!
How do you keep your hair healthy?
- For starters, I stay away from heating tools as much as possible. I rarely blow dry my hair but when I do (maybe every two weeks?) I use this one. I do use a curling iron, as mentioned, but I try to only curl my hair only once or twice a week. In addition, I take biotin and try to keep a healthy lifestyle of food (loads of veggies), plenty of sleep, and exercise. I’ve also learned over the past two years that getting a trim really does help – even though I have length attachment issues. Occasionally, I will use this hair mask!
I hope this answered all of your questions! I’m happy to answer any more y’all have for me – just leave a comment below!

Finally someone with my exact same hair type! I sometimes give up on brushing after about ten minutes because it is such a chore. Bright side: I have mastered the messy bun. I can’t believe you are able to wash your hair such few times in a week! I guess I need to try out that dry shampoo, the one I have isn’t cutting it.

Hi Joelle!
Really?! I’m so glad to hear that – I’ve never met someone with the same type but it sure can be difficult to work with at times. Oh yes, I love a good bun – especially with a great pair of earrings. Give it a shot, it will change your life!! Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
Haha maybe its a Texas thing? Great weather but stubborn hair
